The Foam Company supplies Geofoam blocks (Expanded Polystyrene) Australia-wide, directly from our warehouses in each Australian State.

Geofoam is a high performing fill material, made from expanded polystyrene (EPS), manufactured into large lightweight blocks. Designed for civil engineering under slab or void filler for commercial building construction. Its durability and exceptional strength to weight ratio, allowing the polystyrene void fill to resist heavy structural loads and reduce underlying soil stresses for a variety of applications, such as lightweight road construction, bridge abutments, elevation changes, foundations and many more.

They are most commonly used as structural fill replacing soil. The strength of the blocks means that they can effectively replace weak soil and so provide a stronger structure. Primary uses in civil engineering projects include the construction of highways, bridges, embankments, soil and slope stabilisation but there are many more uses as well. The versatility in size and shaping of the blocks make their use wide ranging and easy to manage onsite. They can also be made to a variety of densities and resulting compressive strength to solve geotechnical issues and load bearing solutions.

The Foam Company's geofoam blocks can be up to 1% the density of soil and with the equivalent strength. This makes it an extremely strong lightweight alternative to soil and other types of fill – tyres, rocks, soil.

The geofoam blocks are environmentally Friendly, being made of Polystyrene foam. No CFCs or any other gas are used in the manufacture or fabric that can escape to harm the ozone layer. The blocks are stable and inert. As a result, they will not pollute the surrounding soil or waterways. They can also be dug out and reused.

100% Australian Made

All our Polystyrene Geofoam blocks are Australian made and high quality, manufactured to Australian Standards (AS1366.3), and comply with Australian Building Codes.

Geofoam being made from EPS, it is both very cost effective, and due to its durability and exceptional strength to weight ratio, it allows the polystyrene void fill to resist heavy structural loads and reduce underlying soil stresses for a variety of applications. Making it extremely strong and lightweight compared to soil, tyres, rocks, soil.

100% Recyclable and Eco-Friendly

There are no ozone depleting or CFC gases produced during the EPS manufacturing process. EPS helps increase building energy efficiently and thereby reducing overall environment impact. Our EPS products are also 100% recyclable. To find your nearest polystyrene recycling centre, please click here.
